Handi Quilter Van Event 2022 - Hands-On Longarm Quilting Class

In this two-day package, you will work hands-on at the quilting machine and learn all about using a longarm to finish your quilts.

Starting with essential information, such as the machine and frame features, through an introduction of Pro-Stitcher, the HQ computerized quilting system, you'll have the opportunity to try it yourself, and ask the questions you like too!

Here are the highlights:

  • Basic features and elements of the HQ longarm machine and frame.
  • Loading a quilt onto the frame.
  • All about bobbins, tension, needles and thread.
  • Quilting with Groovy Boards and pantographs.
  • Free Motion Quilting basics.
  • Using rulers and templates.
  • Introduction to computerized quilting with HQ Pro-Stitcher
With the class limited to 12 participants on 6 longarm machines (the 20-inch Amara longarm on a 4 ft training frame), you and a partner will have time to experience what is presented.  With all the fabrics provided, no need to worry about prep beforehand.  And if you are note-taker, don't forget your paper and pen.  Come ready to shop and save on Handi Quilter machines, tools and supplies.  And we will be ready to answer all questions for those considering the purchase of one of the Handi Quilter longarm machines.

Your training days will be split into two sessions each day with the morning session starting at 9am.  After lunch break, the afternoon session will wrap up around 4pm.  (Lunch is on your own.)

The following is general information that applies to all classes.
